The Lazy S K Ranch in its current form was established in the spring of 2023. The brand, however, has been in my family for generations. The Lazy S K brand belonged to my grandfather and then to my father as a young man, and later to him and my uncles who ran cattle together for many years. My grandfather used to say it stood for “Lazy Siddoway Kids”, a joke made more entertaining by the fact it couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Hardwork is the foundation of a good cattlemen, and it is a trait I have inherited from the generations before me. My father and uncles would eventually each branch out and start their own cattle companies, but the Lazy S K brand was too special to our family to let go. Instead, we continued to renew the brand but retired it from use. That is until it was passed along to me when I started my fullblood wagyu operation. I embrace the Lazy S K brand and all of its sentiment as I continue on a family tradition of raising cattle in Eastern Oregon.
The brand is not the only thing that was passed down to me, along with it came lifetimes of knowledge regarding the cattle industry and cattle management. When I attended Texas A&M University for my undergraduate studies, I was able to add new technologies and practices to the solid foundation of animal husbandry I already processed.
At the Lazy S K Ranch, I am committed to using the latest data and technologies to make better breeding decisions and raise excellent wagyu cattle. With each cattle crop I strive towards perfecting the genetics in my herd and delivering quality breeding stock to my customers.
